Good news: DIRCETUR has implemented a system that guarantees the availability of tickets for Machu Picchu. The key is to purchase them directly in Aguas Calientes the day before your visit.
However, to ensure not only the purchase of tickets but also the guiding, transportation, and accommodation, we recommend booking our 2-day tour. You can easily confirm your reservation by clicking the blue button “Machu Picchu 2 Días” on the calendar or by going to the Machu Picchu Sin Boleto section.
In addition, we keep all our visitors informed about events related to the town and the availability of tickets to Machu Picchu. This information is updated on our page and is also shared directly with our guests through our WhatsApp channel.
In the months of highest tourist demand, it is important to consider that the availability of the 1000 entries to Machu Picchu in the morning hours tends to sell out quickly. In many cases, the only option will be to enter in the afternoon or even extend the stay for an additional night in Aguas Calientes. In these cases, we recommend taking the necessary precautions and contemplating the possibility of adding an extra day to your itinerary.
To avoid these inconveniences and enjoy a more relaxed experience, we recommend booking any of our tours as far in advance as possible. This way you not only secure your entrance tickets to Machu Picchu, but also the train tickets, accommodation, guide, and transportation, ensuring an organized and hassle-free trip.
In months of regular demand, the tolerance time for entering Machu Picchu is 30 minutes.
In months of high demand, this tolerance time is extended to 45 minutes.
For example, if your ticket indicates entry at 9:00 AM, you can access until 9:30 AM in regular season or until 9:45 AM in high season.
⚠️ Important: At the entry controls to the mountains Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, and Huchuy Picchu, no tolerance time is granted. Access is only allowed at the exact time indicated on your ticket.
