The Route of the Sun is a bus tour between the cities of Cusco and Puno. This one-day tour through the Andean countryside is designed to visit ancient Inca sites and archaeological centers. This Cultural Bus is equipped to travel in a comfortable and fun way from Cusco to Puno and also from Puno to Cusco.

Useful Information before the Trip info

Buses in Cusco and Puno are available for boarding from 06:35 AM.
Buses usually depart at 06:50 AM. However, we can wait an extra 10 minutes if a passenger is missing.
If you were unable to board the bus on time, contact us (WhatsApp) to give you a prompt solution.

How to book the tour info

Choose your tour: Cusco to Puno Bus or Puno to Cusco Bus.

Select your departure date.
Number of people.
If you wish you can add to your reservation extra services, such as: Entrance fees to tourist attractions, transfer in Cusco and transfer in Puno.

Finally, complete the booking process by paying by credit or debit card.
We will confirm your reservation by sending an e-ticket to your email address. This e-ticket contains information about your reservation, such as: seat numbers, additional services, transfers, boarding and disembarkation locations.

However, if you book our drop-off service to the port of Kalapajra, it's necessary to provide us the Host family's name and a contact phone number.

If you have arranged your pick-up to the Uros Islands on your own, please note:

We recommend contacting your host one hour before arriving in Puno. Otherwise it'll take you a long time to contact them.
It takes Uros families 15 - 20 minutes to reach the port of Kalapajra.
There're often internet connection problems, so the pick-up service may take more than an hour if you don't contact them beforehand.

Entrance fees are not included in the bus ticket price. However, you can add them to your reservation at the time of booking as extra services. This is very useful especially in high season, when the box offices are crowded.

The price of the bus ticket doesn't include drop-off service. You can add this service to your reservation as extra services, the drop-off service price is USD 10.00 and is for up to 3 people. *Please choose the number of people according to the amount.

What are the biosafety protocols for COVID?

Buses are currently disinfected after each tour. Regular protocols are: spacing, face shield and personal hand sanitizing items. We also provide disinfection items inside and outside the bus.

What is the price for children or minors?

Minors pay the regular rate.

Can I carry a baby on my lap and not pay for the trip?

Yes, you can carry your baby on your lap and not pay the regular fare. However, we strongly recommend reserving a seat for your baby, the trip can become very tiring with a baby. Contact us by WhatsApp to get a discount for your baby.

What is the admission fee for minors?

The regular price is USD 18.00 per person and for minors USD 15.00 You can add this service to your reservation as an extra service at the time of booking. You must indicate by email the name and age of the minor or minors for registration. The passport(s) of the minor(s) will be required before entering the tourist attractions.

I forgot my belongings on the bus, what should I do?
