Key information about this Bus Route
There are 2 ways to travel to La Paz (Bolivia) from Puno. The shortest is Desaguadero, used mostly by locals. The Copacabana route is the most used by tourists, but the longest. There are some requirements and taxes to enter Bolivia, which we highly recommend to process them in Puno, one day before the trip to La Paz.

International Traveller
Don't forget that to enter or leave Bolivia you must fill in form N° 250.
- Accompanied Baggage and Foreign Currency Entry Affidavit.
- All travellers entering the country of Bolivia must complete and submit this form. It records 3 main sets of data: personal identification of the traveller, luggage data and the foreign currency they are carrying with them.
- You can access form 250 by scanning the QR code.
Information Requested
- Recommendation: Have a QR Code Reader application installed and also an internet connection on the day of your trip from Puno to La Paz. Staff will assist you with filling out the form.
- Fill in the form correctly and declare your accompanied baggage and indicate if you are bringing any items or goods subject to customs duties.
- Indicate whether you are carrying cash between US$10,000 and US$20,000 or its equivalent in other currencies.
- At the end the system will generate a QR code which must be presented to the customs authority. If you have any doubts or queries, please contact the staff.
