The Church of Andahuaylillas, the Sistine Chapel of the Americas

Located in the village of Andahuaylillas, the church of San Pedro is known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas. The village of Andahuaylillas is located 36 km southwest of Cusco, just off the main Cusco-Puno road.

While the exterior of the church is rather modest, it is the interior that makes this one of the most precious jewels of colonial art in Peru, sometimes called the Capilla Sixtina or the Sistine Chapel of America.
The Archaeological Complex of Raqchi, Temple of the Sun God Wiracocha

In the Andean highlands between Cusco and Puno, among snow-capped peaks and primitive villages, lies the beautiful pre-Inca site of Raqchi. The most striking feature of Raqchi is its slender but very imprecise columns, some of which reach up to 12 metres into the sky.

The heart of the once rectangular settlement high above sea level is undoubtedly the extraordinary Temple of Raqchi. Built of volcanic rock and clay and dedicated to the Inca god Viracocha, it is unique in Latin America.

La Raya Pass - the highest point on the Cusco Puno Route

The Raya Pass is located at an altitude of 4325m. This is where the cordilleras of central and southern Peru meet, forming the "knot" of Vilcanota, whose snow-capped peaks are often covered in cloud. Beyond the pass, the sheer immensity of the Peruvian Altiplano stretches to the shores of Lake Titicaca. An unforgettable experience.
Lithic Museum of Pukara

Founded in 1999, the museum displays cultural objects recovered from the Pukara archaeological zone in the 1970s. Its collection includes granite steles and monoliths with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic figures of various sizes, all belonging to the Pukara culture.
